Behavorial Consultations
Is your child demonstrating behaviors that just seem like “too much?” Your friend’s children have outgrown the ‘meltdown’ stage, but you are starting to notice that your child hasn’t? Is the fear of your child facing expulsion from school or daycare keeping you up at night? Maybe you have mentioned your concerns to your pediatrician, but they don’t seem worried? At Bright Futures, we believe you are the expert on your children, and your worries should be explored.
Children often convey unwanted behaviors as a way of expressing discomfort or a deeper need. Children who are struggling to manage their emotions and meet expectations can be experiencing difficulty understanding social cues, expectations, or directives, or they are experiencing sensory challenges. By exploring their history and recognizing patterns to their behavior, we can begin to understand their challenges and recognize where support is needed.
Please note, as Bright Futures is passionately neuro-affirming in our care, we do not offer rigid compliance training or rely on consequence-based strategies. Instead, our approach is rooted in understanding your child’s unique needs, modifying their surroundings, and nurturing skills in self-advocacy, effective communication, and emotional intelligence.
